FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball incoming freshman guard Javon Greene has been recognized by a number of publications for his stellar senior year performance at Henry County High School.

The McDonough, Ga., product garnered Georgia AAAA First Team All-State accolades from both HoopSeen.com and Peach State basketball pundit Kyle Sandy.

Sandy also named Greene the top scorer among all AAAA players, while Hoop Seen gave Greene its Senior of the Year Award.

Rated as a top-20 prospect in the state of Georgia by HoopSeen.com and a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com, Greene led the Warhawks to a regional championship and the AAAA Final Four. He scored 34 points in the Elite 8 of the state tournament and poured in 24 points in the semifinals.

Henry County finished the year with a 24-6 record and a final ranking of No. 3 in the AAAA class of Georgia basketball. The team won 18 straight contests before falling in the state semifinals.

A prolific scorer, Greene posted 46 points against Jackson High School in December and dropped a 58-point effort in November against Langston Hughes High School.

The 58-point spectacle set a new Holiday Hoopsgiving scoring record and garnered Greene attention from USA Today.

Greene is joined in Mason's incoming recruiting class by Minnesota Mr. Basketball Finalist and Capital Classic U.S. All-American Goanar Mar (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle)
