FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason (1-1) dropped its final match at the 2007 Adidas D.C. College Cup, losing a close match to American by a goal, 2-1, on the tournament's second and final day of action on Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots split their two matches at the tournament to finish in third place.

American opened up a 1-0 lead against Mason with a goal by junior Tremaine Chinapoo five minutes and 24 seconds into the match. After the half, the Eagles added onto their lead when freshman Jamie Davin found the back of the net three minutes and 52 seconds into the second period.

The score stayed the same until the 81:03 mark of the match, when senior Jordan Mault cut Mason's deficit to a single goal, scoring off an assist from sophomore Rich Stone. The Patriots took two more shots after Mault's goal but neither was on target.

George Washington was crowned the champions of the 2007 Adidas D.C. College Cup with a perfect 2-0 record, beating American in their opening match and winning a thriller in double overtime against Howard on the second day of action. The Colonials pulled off their victory over the Bison with a goal by Tournament MVP Erick Perez-Segnini with only three seconds remaining in the second overtime period to earn the 3-2 win. American finished as the runners-up at the tournament with a 1-1 record, while Howard placed fourth with an 0-2 mark.

After the conclusion of the tournament, the head coaches of the participating schools named an All-Tournament Team and an MVP. The members of the 2007 Adidas D.C. College Cup All-Tournament Team are:
