Dec. 21, 2007

Miami, Fla. - George Mason men's basketball head coach Jim Larranaga has announced that freshman guard Jay Threatt has elected to transfer. Threatt will seek the opportunity to play basketball at another school.

Threatt appeared in four games for Mason this year. As one of three point guards on the roster, he saw just 13 minutes of action with no points, two rebounds and two assists. He appeared for less than a minute against Dayton and Villanova, for two minutes against Kansas State and for 11 minutes in an 85-38 win over Drexel. Against the Dragons, he had both of his assists and one of his rebounds. His other rebound came against Kansas State.

Threatt came to Mason after four years of basketball at Highland Springs High School where he was named All-District, All-Metro and All-Region while helping lead the Springers to a AAA state title.
