George Mason women's lacrosse hosts Liberty Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Patriots first home game of the season.
The Patriots are coming off a six game road trip, finishing with a 4-2 record winning four of their last five. Last time out, Mason took an 11-10 win behind five goals from sophomore Alexa McGovern. McGovern registered three in the second half including the go-ahead goal with 31 seconds remaining in regulation. On the season, sophomore Jacquelyn Spalding leads the Patriots with 29 points behind 14 goals and 15 assists. McGovern is behind her with 12 points, all goals.
Liberty comes to Fairfax looking to snap a three-game losing streak following an 18-12 decision at San Diego State. The Flames lone win came in a 17-13 decision over George Washington at home on February 25. Katy Pridemore leads the way with 27 points behind 19 goals and eight assists; Sam Struss is right behind her with 23 points with 17 goals and six assists.
The Patriots return to the road to face Longwood on March 22 before opening Atlantic 10 play at Saint Joseph's (3/27) then UMass (3/29). Mason's next home game comes on April 3 when they host La Salle at 3 p.m. in George Mason Stadium.
