FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's basketball team will
open its Colonial Athletic Association slate at home on December 4, as the
Patriots' complete 2011-12 schedule was announced Friday. The schedule features
15 home games at the Patriot Center, including nine conference matchups, as
part of the 29-game regular season slate.
Mason will open its conference schedule in early December
welcoming Old Dominion to Fairfax on Dec. 4 before returning to non-conference
play for the remainder of the month. The Patriots close out non-conference play
on January 2 with a trip to Norfolk State before a stretch of 17 straight CAA
games begins.
The Patriots travel to face William & Mary on Jan. 5
before hosting Delaware on Jan.8. A pair of road contests to Northeastern (Jan.
12) and UNC Wilmington (Jan. 15) precedes a trio of home matchups against
William & Mary (Jan. 19), VCU (Jan. 22) and Towson (Jan. 26).
After three games on the road at Old Dominion (Jan. 29),
Drexel (February 2) and James Madison (Feb. 5), the Green and Gold return to
the Patriot Center to welcome Northeastern (Feb. 9) and Hofstra (Feb. 12).
The Patriots then play three of their final five regular
season contests on the road. The final stretch begins at Towson (Feb. 16) before
returning to Fairfax to face Georgia State on Feb. 19. After a visit to
Delaware (Feb. 23), Mason closes its road portion of the schedule at VCU on
Feb. 26.
The regular season concludes for the Patriots on Feb. 29 at
home against James Madison on Senior Day. The CAA Championship will be held
March 8-11 in Upper Marlboro, Md.
All dates and times of the 2011-12 women's basketball
schedule are subject to change. Season and single-game ticket information for
the upcoming season will be released at a later date.
