The Mason men's tennis team defeated
Denison, 6-1 in the team's first of five matches during Spring Break in Hilton
Head.
The Patriots won two of the three
doubles matches to grab the point. The team of Jordan Dyke and Chris Borden won
at No. 2 doubles and Taylor Sargent and Tanner Baine at No. 3.
The points were tough to earn in
the singles matches, with only two points earned in straight set matches. Jimmy
Davis and Aaron Capitel won their matches at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively. Jordan
Dyke at the top position won in a tiebreaker match, 10-5 as well as Taylor
Sargent at No. 6, 10-4 in the tiebreaker. Scott Keaton earned the final Mason
point with a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory.
The Patriots play Michigan Tech on Tuesday.
