The Women's Tennis team opened their Spring Break with a loss to the Big Red of Denison in Hilton Head South Carolina on Sunday.

In a format that started with the singles play Mason fell behind early when Kiersten Pappas had to default early in the second set with a back issue. Esu Erdenebat quickly evened the score with her straight set win. The Big Red pulled ahead when Andy Londen lost at number six. Ashley Delaney tied the match with her win and Brittany Plikington put Mason ahead by one. Denison evened the score once more when Maya Hicks lost in a third set tie-breaker.

The No. 3 doubles team of Esu Erdenebat and Kate Desiatnikova were able to continue their winning ways but Denison took the doubles point by by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 without Pappas in the line-up.

Mason drops to 3-6 and plays Savannah State at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center tomorrow at noon.
