Rowing Set for Head of the Occoquan Saturday

Rowing Inks Two Signees for 2013-14

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason head rowing coach Geoff Dillard announced Mackensie Logue and Sally Widmann will join the program for the 2013-14 season.

"We are really excited to be adding Sally and Mackensie to our program next year," commented Dillard. "They are both top level athletes that know how to work hard and are really competitive. They both come from strong high school programs and have competed at the highest level in high school."

Logue, a native of Egg Harbor Township, N.J., competed in rowing and field hockey at Egg Harbor Township High School. Earning three letters in rowing, she medaled three times at the Atlantic County High School Rowing Championships taking gold in the Varsity 8 and silver in Varsity 4 in 2012, and bronze in the Freshman 8 in 2010.

Also in 2012, Logue helped take silver in the Varsity 4 at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta and Garden State Rowing Championships. As a freshman, Logue also captured a bronze in the Freshman 8 at the Garden State Championships. A team captain, Logue was a three-time gold medal winner at the Brigantine Rowing Association Greenhead Sprints.

A native of Brigantine, N.J., Widmann played two years of field hockey and competed in rowing for four years at Holy Spirit High School. In 2012, Widmann helped capture first at the Atlantic County Greenhead Sprints, fourth in the Stotesbury Final and fifth in the National Scholastic Regatta. As a freshman, Widmann helped win gold in the Miami International Regatta.

A strong student-athlete, Widmann was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Additionally, Widmann served as the President of the National Honor Society and a school ambassador.
