George Mason University Athletics regularly ranks among the top NCAA Division I-AAA. In its young athletic tradition it has two National Championships, '85 Women's Soccer & '96 Men's Indoor Track and Field plus the '06 Men's Basketball Final Four. The 2005-2006 men's basketball season put George Mason University on the map as we captured the hearts of the nation on the road to Indianapolis. The Patriots run to the Final Four was one of the most exciting in NCAA tournament history. What a great year to be a Mason fan! Home for Mason basketball is the Patriot Center, a superb 10,000-seat arena. In 2001, the men set a facility record and had one of the largest on-campus crowds in Virginia state basketball history when nearly 10,000 fans cheered on the Patriots over James Madison. In addition, the facility hosts over 100 events per year including concerts and other live performances including Bruce Springsteen. Men's Full Season $130 CORPORATIONS FOR THE HOME TEAM: Show your charitable and home town support by purchasing a block of 100 (minimum) or more tickets for men's basketball and donating those tickets to your favorite charity. Your company will be recognized at the game(s) as the sponsor of the receiving charity. OR you may purchase a block of 50 (minimum) tickets for women's basketball, men's or women's soccer, women's volleyball, or wrestling. GAME PROGRAM (collectable): The George Mason men and women's basketball game program is a combined 24-page magazine with one year long edition. The program is a combination of stories, statistics, schedules, and information. Deadline October 25. ALL SPORTS PROGRAM: SPOTS INCLUDE BACK COVER AND INSIDE COVER. PLAYER POSTER: 2,500 11" x 17" full-color player posters will be printed with your name prominently displayed on the front of each poster. In addition to your logo, the posters will feature pictures of a different men's basketball starter at each of our Saturday games. POSTER SCHEDULE: 2,500 11" x 17" full-color posters will be printed with your name prominently displayed on the front of each poster. In addition to your logo, the posters will feature pictures from both the men and women's basketball programs and their respective schedules. Posters will be distributed to local merchants for display within their business and to students during our annual Mason Midnight Madness, October 13.
Men's Basketball SCHEDULE CARDS: Your company name will be featured on each and every schedule card. Schedule cards are distributed during home events, at the University bookstore and other trafficked areas on campus, the Athletic field house, and they are included in departmental mailings. Schedule cards are also distributed via local merchants. Schedule cards are produced for the following sports:
Men's and Women's Basketball: quantity 20,000; Including point of purchase SOUVENIR CUPS: During George Mason basketball games 20-ounce plastic souvenir cups will be sold out of the concession stands. The cups will feature the Patriots logo and (your name). Souvenir cups make great keepsakes and are an integral addition to everyone's "cup collection", at home or in dorms. 10,000 produced. MAGNET SCHEDULE: Your name will be prominently displayed on 2500 schedule magnets. These 4" x 7" vinyl magnets are a unique way to put your name in front of consumers at home, work, or on campus while creating a positive association with the university. Available for either soccer or basketball. SEASON TICKET BROCHURE: 10,000 Men & Women's basketball season ticket brochures will go out to the affluent Fairfax County communities and George Mason University alumni with your company's information or coupon. AUTOGRAPH PHOTO CARDS: Each Saturday men's games and Sunday women's games will be known as "(your name) Autograph Saturday (Sunday)". An 8 ½" x 11" autograph card featuring four different players/coaches will be produced for each Saturday/Sunday home game. Your company will receive logo recognition on both the front and back of these cards. Following each weekend game a special autograph table will be set up where the featured players/coaches will sign the autograph cards for the fans. (You may distribute company literature or coupons with the autograph cards.) The table will be decorated with a special "(your name) Autographs" banner. Public address announcements will be made during each game recognizing you as the sponsor of "(your name) Autograph Saturdays (Sundays)". 250 cards will be produced for each men's autograph Saturday, 100 cards for each women's autograph Sunday. There is a minimum of five dates for each team.
AUTOGRAPH PHOTO CARDS are also available for the following individual sports: (banner is included in the cost) SEASON TICKET BACKS: For 2001, 15,000 Men's basketball special edition season tickets will go out to our season ticket holders. You can include your company's information or coupon in order to drive business back to your company. NEWSPAPER INSERTS: Reach 25,000 homes as we deliver important schedule, ticket and team information plus your company information to Journal Newspaper subscribers. These 8 ½" X 11" inserts are perfect for building season long recognition. MONSTER MAGNETS: Be the primary sponsor of our 10,000-piece direct mail package. These pieces are tri-fold brochures that include a refrigerator magnet for season long retention. Your company logo will be included on both the mailer and the magnet. The mailer will be sent to 5,000 George Mason Patriot fans and 5,000 general sports fans. GO PATRIOTS FAN CARDS: These 12" X 12" fan cards are a great way to get your company name out to our fans while showing school spirit at all our big games. These signs will be handed out to all fans at three big games and will say, "Go Patriots" in bold letters plus your company name on the front and back. KEY TAG SCHEDULE: Key Tags offer daily visibility for Virginia Lottery. The key tags are custom-made with your colors and logo along with the Men's Basketball schedule. This item would be distributed to 4,000 Mason student mailboxes, 1,000 to off campus students via the bookstore, 1,000 faculty/staff, and 1,000 season ticket holders for a total of 7,000 fans.

SEATS FOR THE GAME ADVANCE PROMOTION GAME PROMOTION
Wristbands: 1,500 SCRATCH N' WIN WEEKDAYS: "Everybody Wins Scratch N' Win Weekdays" promotion, which entails every fan that attends a Patriots Weekday home game receives a scratch-off ticket that is a guaranteed winner of a item. They can be redeemed at specific participating locations in the area. Additionally, there will be nine scratch-off tickets handed out at each Weekday game that will reward fans with a grand prize of an autographed Patriots jersey. The Patriots expect to distribute more than 25,000 scratch tickets during the team's Weekday home games this season. The promotion was designed by the Patriots marketing staff to give a direct and measurable return on investment by driving fans. COST $5,500 CONCOURSE PROMOTION: By purchasing 500 men's basketball game tickets your company will have the opportunity, at that game, to set up a concourse display. Your display may be used for product demonstration, distribution of literature, and/or product sampling. HALFTIME PROMOTION: A fan(s) will be randomly selected to participate in an on-court or on-field promotion during halftime of home games. The fan(s) will compete in the promotion in an attempt to win a pre-determined prize. (i.e. car, airline tickets, scholarship money, etc.). Information regarding the promotion will be discussed over the public address system and included on promotional literature distributed to season ticket holders. Men's Basketball: Full season/Single game IN-GAME PROMOTIONAL SPONSORSHIPS "BREAK-IN-THE-ACTION": Throughout the season a lucky fan will win a prize courtesy of (your company). The fan will win via a Lucky program or a contest (i.e. Guess the score at halftime, trivia, etc.). A public address announcement will describe and inform the fans of your "Break-In-The-Action". (Prizes for the winner will be determined and supplied by your company.) "Break-In-The-Action" opportunities exist in the following:
Men's Basketball: Full season (i.e. Back Pack Toss) BLIMP: The large indoor R/C blimps are designed to fly 15-25 minutes pre game and at half time of Men's & Women's basketball games. You can mark the blimp by applying a changeable light plastic or vinyl banners. Increase audience excitement by dropping prizes such as coupons. Men's & Women's basketball games VICTORY FLYERS: When the Patriots win at Patriot Center, our cheerleaders come onto the court and throw your companies logoed victory flying discs into the stands after the game. This promotion is supported with public address announcements. (Approx. 1,000 discs) LAPEL PINS: These souvenir lapel pins are great collector items for fans of all ages. Cards included with logo pin highlight your company's message or coupon. ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR: By attending Men & Women's basketball games plus other GMU sporting event, a student organization or residence floor has a chance to win $100 in cash through the "Organization of the Year" contest. PRIZE DICE: Drive store traffic with an enter-to-win contest at a number of sponsors' locations, with the prize being two tickets to the game and the opportunity to roll the Prize Dice (One winner per week). At the game, the fan is escorted to the court where they will roll 2 Prize Dice,5' X 5', and win prizes according to the numbers they roll - numbers correspond with prizes courtesy of the sponsors. There are innumerable ways to implement the promotion, all create fan excitement and generate revenues! PATRIOT REWARDS: The Patriot Rewards program is an exclusive fan rewards program designed to thank you for your loyal support of the Patriots athletics program. PATRIOTS & POLICE: The George Mason University Athletic Department and local Police Departments have joined together with Fairfax County Dept. of Community & Recreation Services to launch "Patriots & Police", a program targeted to expose area youth to the college campus experience. Exposing a post-secondary education as a goal early in these youth's scholastic careers sets them up so they can work toward obtaining that goal. Local police will be distributing Patriot basketball ticket vouchers to children at elementary schools and recreation centers in the county in order to expose them to the college campus experience at the Patriot Center. Additionally, on the night of each P & P game students will receive a special trading card with a player and officer picture plus a special message. PATRIOTS PLATOON: You can be associated with the in-group of students who support their Patriots at all costs. Face painters and wacky dressers welcome. This high profile, front row cheering section will be the exclusive area for the die-hard student fan. Sponsorship includes company name on t-shirts, brochures, and seat back signage.
PATRIOT CENTER PORTAL SIGN: This 3' X 9' permanent signage in the Patriot Center reaches over a quarter million people annually (approximately 360,000 on average). The Patriot Center serves as the home of the George Mason University Men and Women's basketball teams and is one of the East's finest on-campus facilities. The state-of-the-art arena celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2000 and continues to be a gem on the scenic Mason campus. While basketball remains the primary tenant, the multi-purpose facility also hosts a wide array of family programming, concerts, sports and entertainment events. An October 8, 1994 Phish concert set the overall attendance record of 10,356. Other headline acts that have performed in the Patriot Center include Jimmy Buffet, David Copperfield, Gin Blossoms, Barry Manilow and James Taylor, among others. Family entertainment such as Sesame Street Live returns annually. IN-ARENA SIGNAGE: Your company name will be in lights! Your company will be featured on one panel of a tri-action illuminated scorer's table sign during all men's and women's home basketball games. These scorer's table signs not only draw the fan's attention during a game but are directly across from our television cameras used during all home games to capture your message on the highlights of the nightly news, as well as on live television broadcasts of selected games. FIELD HOUSE SIGNAGE: Your company can be featured on the track & field scoreboard at the hub of activity in the George Mason Field House. The signs come in two sizes: BASKET STANCHION SIGNAGE: With every shot taken during George Mason men's and women's basketball, fans will be drawn to your company logo located on the basket stanchion's protective pad. In addition to prominence in the 10,000-seat Patriot Center, your company will receive additional exposure during all televised games, as well as during highlights on the sports coverage of the local nightly news. (George Mason highlights have also been aired regionally and nationally). GMU STADIUM FENCE SIGNS: Your company name will be in front of 25,000 fans via a 6'x 12' fence sign at GMU Stadium. Your sign will be displayed during all men's and women's soccer games, lacrosse games, and track meets. Public address announcements will be made during all contests recognizing your company as a supporter of George Mason Athletics. GMU STADIUM SCOREBOARD SIGN: Permanent signage on our new state-of-the-art 15' X 25' scoreboard in one of the most widely used facilities on the George Mason University campus will draw attention to your company. In addition to the athletic department, GMU Stadium is regularly utilized by non-student athletes, staff members, and members of the surrounding community. The ad panel is 4' X 6'. MOP ADS: Most National Basketball Association teams use it and it is on its way to becoming to basketball what the Zamboni is to hockey. It's an aluminum pole attached to a 24-inch disk with an overlay for logos or advertising on the top and a washable terrycloth pad Velcro-ed to the bottom for safely wiping perspiration and moisture from the basketball court. Since all eyes are drawn to the arena floor, a sponsor's product logo remains visible throughout an entire game. SPHULER FIELD FENCE SIGNS: During each home game, fans will take notice of your company via an 8' x 16' outfield fence sign. In addition to visually associating your company with George Mason baseball, fans will hear your message each game through public address announcements. AQUATICS AND FITNESS CENTER SCOREBOARD SIGNS: Scheduled to open in January of 1999, the George Mason University Aquatics and Fitness Center will not only serve the George Mason population for recreation, instruction, and competition, but will also serve, on a rental basis, the swimming community at the local, regional, national, and international levels. The Colorado Timing Systems scoreboard will include four advertising panels. In addition to posting standings, the scoreboard has the capabilities via electronic messaging to run your preprogrammed messages throughout the competition, as well as every 20 seconds, or every 5 minutes, etc. all day long even when no competition is taking place. The scoreboard is positioned so those in the fitness center will also be in position to see not only your permanent advertising panel, but your frequently run message as well. CONCOURSE DISPLAY SIGNAGE:(All Patriot Center events) One of the most effective ways to create a favorable, long lasting image, and gain valuable exposure is to have a 3-D concourse display sign (4' X 7') at the Patriot Center. Your display may be used for product showcasing, distribution of literature, and name recognition to the over 400,000 annual visitors to the Patriot Center. JOHN LINN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM: The home to men and women's volleyball teams and wrestling team, and seats 2,800 spectators. It has been the site of several CAA championship events and hosted an NCAA volleyball match in 1996. The banners are 4' X 6'. TUNNEL SPONSOR: As the tunnel sponsor you are the featured company as teams are introduced at the basketball games. SOCCER FIELD SIGNS: Your company name lines the field during soccer games World Cup style. Your sign will be displayed during all men's and women's soccer games, and lacrosse games and includes public address announcements. Size is 3' X 10'.
RADIO SPONSORSHIP: Join the Patriots radio team and be a part of ALL games, home and away. From the opening tip-off in November until the final buzzer in March, fans in Northern Virginia and surrounding areas can follow the Patriots. Basketball on the radio is active listening. Listeners stay with every pass, every shot, and every rebound. There is not a tune out factor when commercials air. According to a Simmons Study, commercial recall and positive impressions are 50% higher in sports programming as compared to a regular spot schedule.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS: Around October 15 George Mason University host's "Mason Midnight Madness". Midnight Madness is a spirited event designed to create excitement surrounding the kick-off of the college basketball season. The event, primarily a student and alumni event, but open and free to all, consists of lively, high-energy contests, entertainment, music and prizes followed by the introductions of the men and women's basketball teams. TITLE SPONSOR: As the title sponsor of "Mason Midnight Madness", your company will be included in all promotional material including on-campus flyers, banners, e-mails, etc. In addition, your company will be included in all advertisements including the school newspaper, Broadside, the Connection and any radio spots used to promote the event. Press releases, public address announcements, website announcement are also areas that would recognize your company as the title sponsor of "Mason Midnight Madness". A giant inflatable balloon with banner reading "your company presents Mason Midnight Madness" will be displayed outside of the student center the day before the event. At the event itself, a large video screen will read, "your company presents Mason Midnight Madness", when not being used for highlights or team introductions. Your company can also provide items/literature for distribution at the event. (Last year 5,000+ attended Mason Midnight Madness).
Patriot Center. The Patriot Center serves as the home of George Mason University basketball and is one of the East's finest on-campus facilities. The Patriot Center offers fans excellent site lines and has 9,533 permanent theater-style seats, yet retains an intimate home court advantage. While basketball remains the primary tenant, the multi-purpose facility hosts a wide array of family programming, concerts, sports and entertainment events. The Patriot Center hosts approximately 150 events per year attracting more than 400,000. GMU Stadium. The 5,000 seat GMU Stadium is home to both men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track and field, and lacrosse. In addition to George Mason events, GMU Stadium has served as a practice site for the USA world cup soccer team, DC United professional soccer team, and host site for the regional Disabled Summer Games, and this spring will be the site of the track segment of the Women's Global Challenge. Members of the community also visit GMU Stadium daily to take advantage of its state-of-the-art track. In an average year, an estimated 50,000 people pass through the gates of GMU Stadium. Sphuler Field. Sphuler Field is home to the George Mason University baseball team. Seating capacity is 900 plus standing room. In addition to George Mason baseball, Sphuler Field hosts several camps, weekend clinics and Major League Baseball team tryouts. Aquatics and Fitness Center. The Aquatics and Fitness Center is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility scheduled to open in January, 1999. It will feature two pools, a fitness area, locker rooms and two wet classrooms. The facility will be the home of the George Mason swim team and serve as a recreational facility for the campus community. In addition, the facility will be available for outside constituencies to rent for major swim meets. The Colonial Athletic Association has already inquired about George Mason hosting the conference championships indefinitely. |
