The Mason women's tennis team has two players still alive in the championship singles brackets at the Sergio Tacchini Invitational played at Old Dominion University this weekend. Alex LaCoste and Alicia Van Zandt both won their quarterfinal matches in Flight D competition to advance to the final day of competition on Sunday.

LaCoste defeated Melissa Bohm, 6-2, 6-1 in her match and Van Zandt defeated Marie Eanes-Fennely, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0, to move on in the competition. Gray, Blisk, Deiffenbach, Christman all moved on to the consolation round after losing their first matches.

In double action on Friday, Mason's team of Christman and Dieffenbach won their first match, but lost in the next round. In Flight B doubles, the Patriots two team lost their opening match, but won their consolation.
