Reaching New Heights in '06-'07

More fans saw the Patriots in action at the Patriot Center during the 2006-2007 season than ever before. Over 88,000 fans attended George Mason's 13 home games.

The 6,834 average attendance was tops in the Colonial Athletic Association and ranked 82nd in the NCAA.

The Patriots played in front of two sellout crowds (9,804).

George Mason Basketball made 24 television appearances, including four national television appearances on ESPN.

During George Mason's miraculous run to the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Final Four a nation was born – The Mason Nation! An ESPN online poll conducted before the Final Four showed that 47 of the 50 states were cheering for George Mason to win the national championship. America had spoken and revealed that it truly was…… a Mason Nation.

The Mason Nation has no borders and it grows everyday. The Mason Nation encompasses a devoted fan base full of passion and pride, but it can't be found on any map. It's more than just people; it is a feeling or an experience of Mason.

Mason Nation is fed by a large media machine covering the Patriots, including the Comcast Sports Network, MASN-TV, Verizon Fios and the George Mason Radio Network. Coverage revolves around the official athletics web site, GoMason.com, various other web sites and the sports pages of the Washington Times, Washington Post, DC Examiner and The Connection. These media outlets, including national outlets such as ESPN, provide Mason fans with in-depth coverage on the current doings of the team.

The Mason Nation is open to anyone. It is comprised of a mixture of fans young and old which includes long time season ticket holders, those attending their first game, fans that follow from a distance and everything in between.
