Three Patriots earned All-Conference honors Thursday as midfielder Rachel Obregon was named to the Atlantic 10’s Second Team All-Conference and freshmen Melissa Lobaccaro and Jacquelyn Spalding earned a spot on the All-Rookie team.
Obregon led the Patriots with 45 points behind 33 goals and 12 assists. The senior, Fairfax Station native started all 16 games for Mason, scoring in 13 and registered multiple goals in nine outings. Obregon set a career-high with seven points behind three goals and four assists in the Patriots’ win over St. Bonaventure on April 4.
Spalding saw action in 15 games in her first season with the Patriots scoring 15 goals and dishing out four assists. The Riva, Md. native set a career-high with four goals on four shots in Mason’s 15-9 win over Presbyterian College.
Lobacarro rounds out the honorees after participating in all 16 games for the Patriots, starting 11. The midfielder out of Commack, N.Y. finished the season with five goals, seven ground ball and 37 draw control and caused five turnovers.
