The Patriots took just three shots, all on goal, as they fell 22-2 at Massachusetts Sunday afternoon. Mason turned the ball over 27 times on the day and completed just seven of 19 clear attempts.
The conference leading Minutewomen took a 7-0 lead before Rachel Obregon would locate Jacquelyn Spalding for the Patriot’s first goal of the day with just under 17 minutes left in the first half. UMass would go on to take a 17-1 lead before the break.
UMass scored two goals early in the second half before Kirstin Russell would find Melissa Lobaccaro for her fourth goal of the season.
The Patriots head to local rival George Washington Friday afternoon before returning to Fairfax to wrap up the regular season.
