The series is tied, 1-1-0. The two teams last played in 2001 when Mason fell to Rhode Island 2-0 in Kington, RI. 


Mason will play the final home game at George Mason Stadium this season against Rhode Island in a rescheduled contest that originally began to take place on Friday, October 11. The match was called due to pouring rain and poor field conditions in the 55th minute of play and will begin anew on Friday with a fresh play clock and scoreboard. 

The Patriots come into the match not having lost in their previous five contests, consisting of three wins and two draws. Mason is undefeated at home (5-0-3) and in conference play (2-0-2) and will look to extend that streak. Mason was up 2-0 over Rhode Island in October when the two teams previously met before the match was called in the 55th minute. 

Sophomore Jannik Eckenrode has entered into a tie for the most goals scored for Mason this season with four after putting in two over the past two games. His third of the season was an overtime winner against St. Joseph's on October 25 and his fourth evened the score against La Salle in a 1-1 draw on October 27. 

Rhode Island has remained winless in coference play this season (0-4-0) and looks to snap a four-game winless streak on Friday. The Rams have been outscored 10-3 in their four previous matches. Matt Sykes leads the team in goals scored (6) and points (13).
