The men’s and women’s track teams head to Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University this weekend for the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships. Last season the men captured their first IC4A team title since 2006, collecting 59 points over the three-day meet. The women finished in fifth place.

In addition to a men’s team title, Mason took home five combined individual event titles (4 IC4A, 1 ECAC). Looking to defend their titles this season will be Everett Hackett who won the 5,000m, while David Verburg will look for his third-consecutive title in the 400m.

After a strong showing at the CAA Championships last weekend, the women’s squad jumped five places to 11th in the Southeast Region, while the men moved up one space to 13th. Verburg was named the outstanding male track athlete of the meet after winning the 200m and 400m, while Taylor Wheaton set a meet record in the 400m hurdles (58.62), Jennifer Nakamura broke the school record in the 3000m steeplechase (11:12.21) and Jason Wellington broke the school record in the hammer throw (49.46m).

Also winning events for the Patriots at the CAA Championships were Jasmine Moser (pole vault – 3.96m), Cierra McGee(400m – 53.40), women’s 4x100m relay (46.13), Anthony Williams (110m hurdles – 14.09) and Gustavo Osorio (Decathlon – 6,303 points).
