The Patriot Club honored its endowed scholarship donors and student-athlete recipients at a reception at Mason Hall then at half court of the men's basketball game against UMBC.

The Patriot Club Endowment Donors represent a broad cross-section of our community. George Mason has endowments established by individuals, members of the George Mason community and organizations in the Northern Virginia area. To name an endowment requires a gift of $25,000. Support from this diverse group of donors anchors a long-term commitment to Mason's athletic programs. There are 37 athletic endowments.

"Mason Athletics is very grateful for the support of our endowed athletic sponsorship donors," said Athletic Director Tom O'Connor. "The event was a terrific way to introduce the donors to  those student-athletes who are fortunate to benefit from their generosity."

Each of the student-athlete endowed scholarship recipients were carefully selected to fulfill the criteria specific to each endowment, as defined by the endowment donors. Academic year and standing, athletic merits, declared major course of study and residency are examples of the criteria that were considered by the selection committee.
