EUGENE, Ore. – The George Mason men's and women's 4x400m relays saw their seasons come to an end on Thursday after competing in the semifinals of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
Running in heat three of the women's 4x400m, the squad of Daianna Barron, Cierra McGee, Taylor Wheaton and Dominique Graham found themselves in second place midway through the event. However, they were unable to maintain the momentum, finishing fourth in the heat and 12th overall in a time of 3:35.04.
The men's quartet of Angel Coburn, David Verburg, Da'Quan Smalls and Adrian Vaughn ran in heat two, finishing eighth in the heat and 24th overall in 3:10.30.
Verburg will take to the track one last time for Mason at the championships tomorrow, running for the 400m title at 9:05 p.m. EST, closing out the Patriots' season.
