Members of the Mason community gathered on a sunny afternoon Thursday to take part in the 17th Annual Victims' Rights 5K Run/Walk. The event raises money for non-violence education while helping to bring the community together in support of victims' rights. Funds raised went to the Aimee Willard Endowment Scholarship Fund, which honors the memory of the former Patriot student-athlete, who competed for the Green and Gold in both soccer and lacrosse.
A major role in the planning and preparation of the event is performed by Mason student-athletes, including the women's soccer and lacrosse teams to whom the event has special significance.
