On Tuesday night, the George Mason athletic department, its student-athletes, coaches and staff, gathered at the Mason Inn to recognize the 2013 senior class one last time and announce the recipients of the annual awards.

Members of the Mason community gathered on a sunny afternoon Thursday to take part in the 17th Annual Victims' Rights 5K Run/Walk. The event raises money for non-violence education while helping to bring the community together in support of victims' rights. Funds raised went to the Aimee Willard Endowment Scholarship Fund, which honors the memory of the former Patriot student-athlete, who competed for the Green and Gold in both soccer and lacrosse.

George Mason University has entered into a membership agreement to join the Atlantic 10 Conference beginning with the 2013-14 season, President Ángel Cabrera announced today. George Mason will officially become members of the 21-sport league on July 1, 2013.

George Mason Provost Scholar Athletes were recognized at the men's basketball game on Saturday for their outstanding academic achievements.

Mason will host the event on Saturday, February 23 at the men's basketball game versus William and Mary in the Patriot Center at 4 p.m. Bins will be placed around the concourse of the Patriot Center for spectators to donate nonperishable food items.
