Ending the 2013 season on a high note, the George Mason baseball team staved off a late University of Connecticut rally and avoided a sweep at the hands of the Huskies with a 4-3 triumph on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Spuhler Field.

A solo home run by Patrick Esposito was all the offense the George Mason baseball team could produce as it was outslugged by the University of Connecticut, 9-1.

A big four run seventh inning by the University of Connecticut broke a 2-2 tie and propelled the Huskies to a 6-3 win over the George Mason baseball team in game one of a weekend non-conference series on Thursday afternoon at Spuhler Field.

Mason concludes its 2013 season this weekend, hosting the University of Connecticut in non-conference action Thursday-Saturday.

Due to inclement weather in the area, today's baseball game versus UMES has been cancelled.
